CNN's John King on Declassifying 9/11 Documents

October 29, 2018, CNN's John King reported on the Justice Department's commitment to produce long-classified FBI documents related to the 9/11 investigation and the ongoing lawsuit between thousands of 9/11 family members and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The lawsuit filed by 9/11 families against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia prompted the Justice Department to produce long-classified documents related to the Saudi government’s support for the 9/11 hijackers.

On Friday, October 12, 2018, Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah Normand told U.S. District Judge George Daniels that “our office asked the FBI to conduct a declassification and privilege review.”

She further revealed that the government is processing three tranches of documents, including of FBI witness interviews known as 302s.
