“The 9/11 families have waited for years for this moment,” Kreindler Attorney for the survivors Steven Pounian said at a hearing in New York.
According to Assistant U.S. State Attorney Sarah Normand (DOJ - U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of New York), her office has asked the FBI to declassify documents and allow for a review of information relating to Saudi Arabia’s connections to Omar al-Bayoumi and Fahad al-Thumairy.
Pounian stated the documents will connect al-Thumairy to a group in Los Angeles that is linked to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
“Those documents are going to go, we expect, to the heart of that,” said Pounian.
